Although the East Friesland region is quite small and densely populated, the northwest region of the Republic is at the forefront of tea consumption, with over 2 kg per capita per year on average. Due to this high demand, large quantities of the finest teas arrive there annually, primarily from Assam, to be processed into noble and refined blends. The predominantly strong and wonderfully delicate varieties are traditionally served in tins with Kluntje-Kandis (a type of tea) and a dollop of cream (clouds).

Bien que la région de l'Est de la Friesland soit assez petite et très peuplée, la région du nord-ouest de la République se trouve à l'avant pour boire du thé avec plus de 2 kg par habitant et par an en moyenne fédérale.
