Common Questions

What are bitter apricot kernels?

They are seeds extracted from the stone of wild apricots after the stone is removed, dried, and cracked open.

Why is this product not for human consumption?

Raw apricot seeds contain amygdaline which breaks down into hydrocyanic acid when chewed, and the hydrocyanic acid content exceeds EU safety limits under Regulation 1237.

What is the acute reference dose mentioned?

The ARFD is 20mg per kg of body weight, a threshold that is exceeded even with very few bitter apricot seeds, making the product unsafe for consumption.
