Naked barley, also known as Orzo del Faraone or Orzo Naked, is a minor cereal grain very useful for maintaining biodiversity. The grain of this variety is easily separated from the husk during milling and is therefore usable in its whole form. Different cultivars are used depending on the sowing period, the type of seed (seedlings, mountain, or marshland), and the soil type. Orzo is 100 Italian, grown mainly in the hilly areas of the region. Cultivation: In accordance with organic regulations, no synthetic treatments are applied, only organic fertilizers, which prevent soil depletion and water pollution. The barley is sown using crop rotation to avoid over-cultivation and is harvested using the traditional method of mechanical harvesting.
