Ammonia Test Strips
Ammonia is one of the most toxic water parameters in any aquarium. It's the most crucial parameter to test for, especially when your setting up a new aquarium. Ammonia is the most common reason for fish loss to occur within the first few weeks of setting up a new tank. Most frequent signs of high ammonia in your aquarium is your fish will have a loss of appetite, stay at the bottom of the tank, gasping for air at the surface, as well as inflamed gills. Most common reason high ammonia occurs is due to overfeeding, overstock, insufficient filtration, or the tap water used in the tank wasn't properly treated.
