Dirofen tablets are a combination anthelmintic drug.

The combination of praziquantel, febantel and pyrantel pamoate, which are part of the drug, provides a wide spectrum of its anthelmintic action on all phases of development of round and tapeworms parasitizing in the gastrointestinal tract of dogs and cats, including Toxocara canis, Toxocara mystax, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Trichuris vulpis, Ancylostoma caninum, Echinococcus granulosus, Alveococсus multilocularis, Mesocestoides lineatus, Dipylidium caninum, Diphyllobothrium latum, Multiceps multiceps.

Pyrantel pamoate is a compound of the pyrimidine group, the mechanism of its action is based on the blockade of the transmission of nerve impulses in Neuromuscular synapses by depolarizing muscle cell membranes, causing paralysis of the nematode's muscular system.

Praziquantel is a pyrazinoisoquinoline compound active against gastrointestinal cestodes at all stages of development.

By increasing the permeability of the parasite's cell membranes to calcium ions (Ca2+), it causes membrane depolarization, muscle contraction, and destruction of the tegument, leading to the death of the helminths and facilitating their elimination from the animal's body.

Febantel is a probenzimidazole, which is biotransformed in the body into benzimidazoles.

Febantel's mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of the enzyme fumarate reductase in helminth mitochondria, which disrupts glucose uptake and tubulin protein synthesis.

This leads to the destruction of the microtubule apparatus of the parasite's cells, causing its death.

Dirofen tablets are administered to animals individually during the morning feeding with a small amount of food or a treat.

A preliminary fasting diet and the use of laxatives are not required.

Dirofen tablets for cats and dogs of small and medium breeds - 1 tablet per 5 kg of animal weight.

For preventive purposes, deworming is carried out once, quarterly, and also before each vaccination.

For therapeutic purposes, as well as for the purpose of prevention in group (crowded) keeping of animals (nurseries, shelters, vivaria), treatment is carried out:

for nematodosis: twice with an interval of 14 days;

for cestodiasis and associative nematode-cestodiasis infestations: twice with an interval of 14 days, once a day for 3 consecutive days;

for giardiasis: once a day for 3 consecutive days in the doses indicated in the table.

Ingredients: febantel - 75 mg / tablet, pyrantel pamoate - 75 mg / tablet, praziquantel - 25 mg / tablet, excipients.

Пирантела памоат – соединение группы пиримидинов, механизм его действия основан на блокаде передачи нервных импульсов в нервно-мышечных синапсах путем деполяризации мембран мышечных клеток, что вызывает паралич мышечной системы нематод.

Празиквантел – соединение группы пиразинизохинолинов, активно в отношении желудочно-кишечных цестод на всех фазах развития. Повышая проницаемость клеточных мембран паразита для ионов кальция (Ca2+), вызывает деполяризацию мембран, сокращение мускулатуры и разрушение тегумента, что приводит к гибели гельминтов и способствует их выведению из организма животного.

Фебантел относится к пробензимидазолам, биотрансформирующимся в организме в бензимидазолы. Механизм действия фебантела основан на ингибировании фермента фумаратредуктазы в митохондриях гельминтов, в результате чего нарушается усвоение глюкозы и синтез белка тубулина, что приводит к разрушению микротубулярного аппарата клеток паразита, вызывая его гибель.

Дирофен таблетки применяют животным индивидуально в утреннее кормление с небольшим количеством корма или лакомства. Предварительной голодной диеты и применения слабительных средств не требуется.

Дирофен таблетки для кошек и собак мелких и средних пород - 1 таблетка на 5 кг массы животного. С профилактической целью дегельминтизацию проводят однократно, ежеквартально, а также перед каждой вакцинацией.

С лечебной целью, а также с целью профилактики при групповом (скученном) содержании животных (питомники, приюты, виварии) обработку проводят:

при нематодозах: двукратно с интервалом 14 суток;

при цестодозах и ассоциативных нематодо-цестодозных инвазиях: двукратно с интервалом 14 суток один раз в день в течение 3-х последовательных дней;

при лямблиозе: один раз в день в течение 3-х последовательных дней в указанных в таблице дозах.
