Composition and pharmacological properties.

ALBEN C contains albendazole - 250 mg and praziquantel - 25 mg as active ingredients in 1 tablet, as well as excipients: lactose, potato starch, flavoring with the aroma of fresh meat.

Albendazole is a benzimidazole carbamate derivative, active against adult and larval nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract and lungs, as well as adult cestodes.

The mechanism of action is associated with selective suppression of beta-tubulin polymerization, which leads to the destruction of cytoplasmic microtubules of helminth intestinal cells; By altering biochemical processes, albendazole suppresses glucose utilization and inhibits ATP synthesis, blocking the movement of secretory granules and other organelles in helminth muscle cells, causing their death.

Indications for use.

ALBEN C is prescribed to dogs and cats for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes for nematodosis (toxocariasis, toxascariasis, uncinariasis, ancylostomiasis), cestodiasis (taeniasis, dipylidiosis, echinococcosis, diphyllobothriasis, mesocestoidosis) and giardiasis.

Contraindications.

A contraindication to the use of ALBEN C is increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug.

ALBEN C is not allowed to be used by pregnant and lactating females, as well as puppies under 3 weeks of age and kittens under 3 months of age.

ALBEN C is not intended for use by productive animals.

Dosage and administration.

ALBEN C is used for dogs and cats individually, once, orally (inside) in the morning feeding with a small amount of food at a dose of 1 tablet per 5 kg, which corresponds to 50 mg/kg of albendazole and 5 mg/kg of praziquantel.

For dogs and cats weighing less than 2.5 kg, crush 1 tablet of the drug, suspend it in 10 ml of drinking water, shake vigorously and administer it to the animal using a syringe without a needle, at a rate of 1 ml of suspension per 0.5 kg of animal weight.

For giardiasis and helminthiasis complicated by giardiasis, ALBEN C is used at a dose of 1 tablet per 10 kg of animal weight once a day for 5 consecutive days, which corresponds to 25 mg/kg of albendazole and 2.5 mg/kg of praziquantel.

For dogs and cats weighing less than 2.5 kg, crush 1 tablet of the drug, suspend it in 20 ml of drinking water, shake vigorously and administer to the animal using a syringe without a needle, at a rate of 1 ml of suspension per 0.5 kg of animal weight.

For therapeutic purposes, animals are dewormed as indicated, for prophylactic purposes - quarterly at a therapeutic dose.

A preliminary fasting diet and the use of laxatives for animals before deworming are not required.

Avoid skipping a dose of the drug, as this may lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy.

If a dose is missed, it is administered at the dose and according to the schedule established by these instructions.

Комбинация входящих в состав препарата действующих веществ обеспечивает широкий спектр его антигельминтного действия на все стадии развития круглых и ленточных гельминтов, паразитирующих у собак и кошек, в том числе Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Trichuris vulpis, Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Diphyllobothrium latum, Dipylidium caninum, Multiceps multiceps, Taenia spp.,а также простейших Giardia spp.

Альбендазол – производное бензимидазола карбамата, активен в отношении имаго и личинок нематод желудочно-кишечного тракта и легких, а также имаго цестод. Показания к применению.

АЛЬБЕН С назначают собакам и кошкам с лечебной и профилактической целью при нематодозах (токсокароз, токсаскаридоз, унцинариоз, анкилостомоз), цестодозах (тениоз, дипилидиоз, эхинококкоз, дифиллоботриоз, мезоцестоидоз) и лямблиозе.

Противопоказания.

Противопоказанием к применению АЛЬБЕН С является повышенная индивидуальная чувствительность животного к компонентам препарата.

Не допускается применение АЛЬБЕН С беременным и лактирующим самкам, а также щенкам моложе 3-недельного возраста и котятам моложе 3-месячного возраста.

АЛЬБЕН С не предназначен для применения продуктивным животным.

Дозы и порядок применения.

АЛЬБЕН С применяют собакам и кошкам индивидуально, однократно, перорально (внутрь) в утреннее кормление с небольшим количеством корма в дозе 1 таблетка на 5 кг, что соответствует 50 мг/кг альбендазола и 5 мг/кг празиквантела. Собакам и кошкам массой менее 2,5 кг 1 таблетку препарата измельчают, суспендируют в 10 мл питьевой воды, интенсивно взбалтывают и вводят животному с помощью шприца без иглы, из расчета 1 мл суспензии на 0,5 кг массы животного.

При лямблиозе и гельминтозах, осложненных лямблиозом, АЛЬБЕН С применяют в дозе 1 таблетка на 10 кг массы животного один раз в день в течение 5 дней подряд, что соответствует 25 мг/кг альбендазола и 2,5 мг/кг празиквантела. Собакам и кошкам массой менее 2,5 кг 1 таблетку препарата измельчают, суспендируют в 20 мл питьевой воды, интенсивно взбалтывают и вводят животному с помощью шприца без иглы, из расчета 1 мл суспензии на 0,5 кг массы животного.

С лечебной целью животных дегельминтизируют по показаниям, с профилактической целью – ежеквартально в терапевтической дозе.

Предварительной голодной диеты и применения слабительных средств животным перед дегельминтизацией не требуется.

Следует избегать пропуска очередной дозы лекарственного препарата, так как это может привести к снижению терапевтической эффективности. В случае пропуска очередной дачи препарата, его задают в дозе и по схеме, установленной настоящей инструкцией.
