Never use a loofah again
The 'Tree of Wonders' as the agave plant is often called, has been cultivated for thousands of years and over 100 products are made from it. This all natural Ayaté cloth is made in an extremely labor-intensive process. After the agave leaves are cut, they are cooked and pounded into fibrous strands. They are then softened under rocks for up to a week. Then, one-by-one, each fiber is scraped and washed to remove any remaining debris. The fibers are then soaked in a natural lime solution and hung to dry. Once dry, they are hand woven, knitted, or crocheted into Ayaté squares.
All you have to do is soak them in water to activate their natural, powerful exfoliation!
