Q: How much fiber should a person consume per day (Benefiber Chewables)? A: According to the Institute of Medicine (IOM) and USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) dietary guidelines published in 2005, the daily AI (adequate intake) value for fiber is 14 g per 1000 kcal consumed or 25 g/day for adult women and 38 g/day for adult men (ages 19-50).
