We harness the power of plants to create an effective range of curl care, using naturally derived ingredients and natural fragrances. We refer to the Environmental Working Group (EWG ) to keep our products are clean as possible.

Our formula does not contain: silicones, sulphates, petroleum, propylene glycol, parabens, PEGs, phthalates, synthetic fragrance/colours and is alcohol-free and naturally derived-an average of 97% plant-based making Bouclème safe for the environment and safe for your body.

We test our products on real curls, never on animals. We work with a panel of testers with different curl issues.

We source Mafura butter, Marula and Mongongo oil through a cooperative in Southern Africa committed to biodiversity conservation. All our Aloe Vera and Shea Butter is organically grown.

PACKAGING

Our bottles and tubes are made out of biopolymer sugarcane, an upcycled bioplastic made from renewable sources that helps reduce CO2 emissions.

Our Colour Toning Drops packaging is made from 90% PCR post consumer regrind made from recycled single use plastic that would otherwise end up in landfill. Our Unisex range is made from 30% PCR.

By the end of 2021, our manufacturing will be running on green energy which is part of our mission to reduce our carbon footprint.

TREES FOR FUTURE

Bouclème are proud to partner with Trees for the Future to plant one tree for every 300ml bottle and Curl Kit you buy from our online store which helps sequester carbon being released in the atmosphere. With your help, we have been able to plant over 50,000 trees to date, averaging 628,464.8 lbs of carbon sequestered per year.

Trees for the Future have been planting trees in impoverished countries, helping farmers and those in poverty for over 30 years. Planting fast-growing trees, fruit trees, hardwoods and food crops, this amazing charity helps families grow food sustainably, provide feed for livestock, allows those in poverty to make an income and reduces the ever-growing impact the effect climate change has on our planet. Trees for the Future work with large groups of families, providing training, mentoring, seeds, and nursery supplies for each family - working alongside them to ensure that farmers can succeed for years to come.
