Our Kenya coffee comes from the Kiundi growing area in the southern highlands. Kenyan coffee grows largely at an altitude of 1,500 to 2,100 m. There are two harvests per year. Because only the ripe coffee cherries are picked, the entire planting is harvested by hand up to seven times. Coffee connoisseurs have a particular preference for the aromatic top coffees from Kenya, because they are distinguished by their fine acid, unusual fruitiness reminiscent of berries and full body. The first trees came to Kenya from Ethiopia in the 19th century. Today, coffee is cultivated on 1,300 large plantations and 600,000 small producers in collaborations.
