KEYS TO SUCCESS IN HAIR DYEING
LIGHTING
The darkness of the application area prevents the color from being determined correctly
The best light for determining hair color is natural daylight.
If the environment has white walls and many windows, hair color is determined better.
White and yellow light cause errors in color determination.
DETECTION OF NATURAL HAIR COLOR
White hair: In this type of hair, the color pigment does not work actively
Natural hair: This type of hair contains natural pigments within its cortex structure. It is hair that has not been subjected to any chemical process.
HAIR TYPE
Thick Hair:
Color pigments are less abundant in thick hair.
They appear rough and matte. Pigmentation can be done before dyeing.
When selecting a color, one tone darker than the determined color should be preferred.
Fine Hair:
Color pigments are found more tightly in fine hair.
They look brighter and more vibrant.
Since color pigments are tight, hydrogen peroxide concentrations can be kept high.
One tone lighter than the desired tone should be preferred.
HAIR CONDITION
Whether it has been chemically treated
Wear status
Texture (curly-straight)
HAIR POROSITY
Causes of porous hair:
Chemical treatments,
Excessive exposure of hair to the sun
Sea water and chlorinated water
Characteristics of porous hair:
Hair is more absorbent
It has a coarse and rough appearance
It has a matte appearance
Hair is dry
Dyeing porous hair When applying:
The dye mixture penetrates the hair strands unevenly, the mixture should be applied well and abundantly
Highly porous hair takes the dye quickly
Since it is absorbent, the mixture should be prepared in excess.
Porous hair causes the dye molecules to flow quickly from the hair. Therefore, the pigmentation process increases the permanence of the dye.
Rinsing with acid after application reduces porosity.
SKIN TONE FACTOR
In fair skin, very dark coloring will highlight the face.
In general, when choosing the color of the paint, skin, eye and muscle color should be taken into consideration.
AGE FACTOR
Young people have smooth and healthy skin, so they can use any color with ease.
Elderly people have irregular skin appearances in terms of shape and texture.
Very dark tones emphasize these appearances.
Dark and ashy colors make elderly people look older than they are.
Youth hair is not recommended for elderly people.
Blonde and slightly warm tones should be preferred.
CHECK OF THE MODEL'S SCALP
Wounds, scratches on the scalp
Inflammation on the scalp
Abnormal hair loss
The oil of the scalp should be checked.
TIME FACTOR IN COLORING APPLICATIONS
Waiting 35-40 minutes is enough for dark color dyes.
Waiting 45-50 minutes is enough for light color dyes.
If the minimum time is not completed, the color will come out lighter than it is.
Keeping the dye mixture for longer than it is will damage the hair.
AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IN COLORING APPLICATIONS
The ambient temperature in hair coloring applications should be at least 20.
When additional heat is given, the time should not be kept too long and it should not be given from the same point. (A 10 degree temperature increase doubles the dyeing speed)
A blow dryer should not be used for heat, an air conditioner should be preferred.
A swimming cap should be worn if necessary.
WHITE RATE IN HAIR
Color pigments in white hair have lost their activity.
It generally has a hard structure.
When it is desired to be dyed in fashionable tones, it must be supported with the main tone.
Natural tones appear duller as the white share increases.
The amount of white hair:
If it is 100 , 2 parts main tone 1 part fashion color
If it is 75 , 1 part main tone 1 part fashion tone
If it is 50 , 1 part main tone 2 parts fashion tone
If the white ratio is less than 20 , fashion tone is used directly
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE USAGE
It can be mixed with both permanent dyes and hair lighteners
If used alone, it lightens the hair color and causes the hair to be more porous
It is rarely used to soften very thick-textured hair before applying permanent color to the hair
If the desired color is darker than the natural color, 3
If the desired color is the same as the natural color or 1-2 tones lighter, 6
If the desired color is 2-3 tones lighter than the natural color, 9
If the desired color is 4-5 tones lighter than the natural color, 12
If the desired color is 5 tones or more lighter than the natural tone, the hair is lightened with powder lightener
