Fusilli (twisted pasta) are a type of very short pasta and a specialty of the Campania region in southern Italy. They have a spiral shape with a diameter of 10 mm, an average length of 41 mm, and a thickness between 1.35 and 1.48 mm. In ancient times, fusilli were made by hand using a method passed down from mother to daughter, which involves twisting a long strand of spaghetti-like pasta around a knitting needle with a swift, dexterous hand. This skill is reminiscent of the movement of a spinning machine. In fact, the word "fusilli" comes from "fuso," meaning spindle, the rod with which spinning machines were used. They are very tasty with Ragù Napoletana and ricotta sauces. They are also excellent with tomato-based vegetable sauces with peppers, eggplant, olives, and capers.

Pâtes Fusilli N 34 5 x 500 g - De Cecco
