• Use as a spice:Basil is frequently used as a spice, especially in Turkey. Dried basil is more often preferred than fresh. Furthermore, those with a high estragole content are widely preferred in the cleaning industry.
• Food use:Basil is widely used in the food industry due to its aroma, flavor, and fragrance. A variety grown in Italy, known as Italian Basil, is added to pesto sauce. In addition to its aroma, basil is also used for its color. For this purpose, it is used in the production of food coloring. In Europe, fresh basil is used both as a flavoring and as a leavening agent in the production of products such as milk and cheese.
• Using as herbal tea:Dried basil leaves can be brewed into tea. The benefits of basil tea are similar to those of other consumption methods. However, because it's easy to consume, it's more frequently preferred.
• Using as sherbet and jam:The Arapgir Municipality of Malatya has introduced basil in various forms and has pioneered its promotion. Sherbet and jam are among these varieties.

Reyhanin kullanim alanlari arasinda sunlar yer alir:

• Baharat olarak kullanim:Reyhan özellikle Türkiye'de baharat olarak oldukça sik kullanilir. Baharat olarak kullanimda taze seklinden çok kurutulmus hali daha sik tercih edilir. Özellikle Misir'da kuru reyhan faydalari ile iyi taninir ve çok büyük ticari satis oranlarina sahiptir. Çünkü sicak bölgelerde büyüyen reyhanlar daha yüksek biyokütleye sahip olur ve yüksek verimle ürün verir.
• Uçucu yaginin çikarilarak kullanimi:Reyhan bitkisinin içerdigi yag oldukça aromatik bir kokuya sahiptir. Bu sebeple kozmetik sanayinde birçok kullanim alanina sahiptir. Içerdigi linalol ve citral orani ne kadar yüksek ise uçucu yag kozmetikte kullanima o kadar elverisli ve degerli sayilir. Citral orani yüksek olanlarin önemli oranda ticareti de yapilir. Ayrica estragol içerigi yüksek olanlar temizlik sektöründe yaygin olarak tercih edilir.
• Gida seklinde kullanim:Reyhan sahip oldugu aroma, tat ve koku nedeniyle gida sektöründe oldukça yaygin kullanilir. Italya'da yetisen ve Italya Reyhani olarak bilinen çesidi pesto sosun bilesimine katilir. Aromasi disinda renginden yararlanmak için kullanimi da tercih edilir. Bu amaçla reyhandan gida boyalarinin üretiminde yararlanilir. Avrupa'da ise taze hali süt ve peynir gibi ürünlerin üretiminde hem aroma verici olarak hem de maya amaciyla kullanilir.
• Bitkisel çay seklinde kullanim:Reyhanin kurutulmus yapraklari demleme usulüyle çay haline getirilerek tüketilebilir. Reyhan çayinin faydalari reyhanin diger tüketim sekillerindeki ile benzerdir. Fakat tüketimi kolay oldugundan daha sik tercih edilir.
• Serbet ve reçel olarak kullanimi:Malatya'nin Arapgir belediyesi reyhanin oldukça degisik versiyonlara getirerek satisa çikarmis ve reyhanin tanitimina öncülük etmistir. Bu versiyonlar arasinda serbet ve reçel de yer alir.
