Mistletoe (Pear Celery)

Mistletoe is a semi-parasitic plant with leathery leaves that grows on apple, oak, and other broad-leaved trees. It obtains its vital water and minerals from its host tree. It produces white, sticky fruits in winter.

It photosynthesizes independently and may weaken, though it does not kill, the host tree. Its seeds are often carried by birds to other trees, forming clusters of large, round mistletoe on tree branches. Mistletoe is an evergreen plant. Abundant in Turkey, mistletoe is generally collected in the early months of spring and autumn.

While it offers numerous health benefits, its inadvertent use is quite dangerous. First of all, mistletoe fruit is poisonous and should never be consumed. Doing so can lead to serious health problems.

Storage should be done in a closed container, away from sunlight. We do not ship old, nutritionally depleted products you can consume our products as food.
