Steinthal was founded in 1852 as the first Darjeelings tea garden by the German priest Joachim Stoele and is especially popular in Europe not only for its history but also for its long-standing production of high-quality tea. It is probably the only Darjeelings garden where 100 China tea plants are still grown. This is also reflected in the beautifully crafted, slightly twisted Sinensi leaves.
