To slightly facilitate the drying process of the coffee but still retain some of the fruity aroma in the cup, the coffee fruit is pressed but not washed. In the "Red Honey Process", the coffee beans are then dried with pulp in the sun. With the "Honey Process" only about half of the pulp remains on the receipt. A full, fruity chocolate flavor in the cup is typical of this process. Special features of coffee from Costa Rica rely on its world-famous character due to the desired mass production of the 1980s and 1990s. Although the country is small and the farm is more likely to belong to small to medium-sized families, coffee has been processed in large preparation plants for decades. Om het droogproces van de koffie iets te vergemakkelijken maar toch een deel van het fruitige aroma in de beker te behouden, wordt de koffievrucht ingedrukt maar niet gewassen. Bij het "Red Honey Process" worden de koffiebonen vervolgens met vruchtvlees in de zon gedroogd. Bij het "Honey Process" blijft slechts ongeveer de helft van het vruchtvlees aan de bon. Een volle, fruitige chocoladesmaak in de beker is bij dit proces typisch. Bijzondere kenmerken koffie uit Costa Rica vertrouw zijn wereldberoemde karakter door de gewenste massaproductie van de jaren 80 en 90. Hoewel het land klein is en de boerderij eerder bij kleine tot middelgrote gezinnen ligt, is al tientallen jaren koffie in grote bereidingsinstallaties verwerkt. Hierdoor verkrijgt de koffie zijn enige karakter volledig. Vandaag zijn de kleine boerders in staat om hun koffie zelf te bereiden en winstgevend op de markt te brengen.
