The benefits of jojoba oil were discovered hundreds of years ago by Native Americans and used to heal wounds.
Jojoba oil is not actually an oil, but a liquid wax. Composed of long-chain monounsaturated liquid wax esters, it is structurally and chemically similar to the natural restorative esters (sebum) produced by our skin. It penetrates deeply without clogging the pores, allowing the skin to breathe easily.
As a result of studies conducted on the ozonized form of Jojoba Oil, the following are reported:
- Ideal for skin cleansing: Jojoba oil is quickly absorbed into the skin and regulates oiliness by preventing sebum production of the skin.
- It has natural antibacterial and fungicidal properties. It prevents infections by many bacteria and some fungi. Thus, it can reduce the frequency of rashes and spots.
- Reduces wrinkles, protects the outer layer of the skin and improves the appearance of skin by keeping it moist, soft and supple.
- A natural free radical scavenger, a natural antioxidant and can help protect the skin from the damaging effects of free radicals.
- Jojoba oil contains plenty of tocopherols (vitamin E) and other minerals that are beneficial to skin health.
- It is naturally hypoallergenic: therefore it can be soothing to sensitive skin This allows people with allergic skin and body types to use jojoba oil as a natural moisturizer.
- It stays fresh longer than other oils and, unlike other vegetable oils, does not contain triglyceride.
- When jojoba oil is ozonated, it stabilizes, takes on a creamy consistency and forms a strong peroxide.
