Some mushrooms don't grow well on farms, so we source wild harvested mushrooms from across the globe. A great example is our Cordyceps Sinensis which comes from Tibet.
Our farmed mushrooms are grown in a sustainable environment with the most technologically advanced techniques, equipment and farmers.
Where do Ecogenya Mushrooms come from?
Our Continental Brand of Mushrooms come from around the world. We go as far as Tibet for some of them. Regardless of where we get them, we always make sure that they are tested for potency and safety and we make sure they are fair trade produced.
What type of extraction method do you use?
Unlike others, we use a special, technologically advanced dual extraction method. First we use an enzymatic extraction method and then Hot Water extraction. Together, these methods release the maximum amount of nutrients without harsh chemicals
What part of the mushroom do you use to make your mushroom extracts?
We only us the fruiting body - or the actual mushroom. Most others use the mycelium which is grown on grain, so you're getting starches and grains in your extract. Although that is much cheaper, you don't get a pure, potent extract.
Why does your extract cost more than some I've seen listed on other sites?
In order to provide a potent, safe product, there are many tests and quality control measures required. It's expensive but necessary. Just like a designer watch, if you see one cheap, it's probably fake. Many extracts online are over 90% rice powder.
Do you offer a locally grown and produced mushroom extract?
Yes, we sure do. Our Fantastic Fungi brand is locally grown, produced and packaged and comes from local Canadian farmers. It's a little more expensive, but we think it's well worth it.
