The name was inspired in Armenia, Colombia, after the founder did a coffee tour around Armenia back in the 30's. Nueva Armenia was founded in 1935 when getting to that area was very difficult, where coffee was transported by mules. Jorge and Javier Recinos manage Nueva Armenia, and use their coffee knowledge inherited from their father to preserve the natural biodiversity of the land while experimenting in premium coffee cultivation. In 1999, it became one of the first certified Organic farms in Guatemala. Nueva Armenia is today a fully organic farm certified by OCIA, it is also Smithsonian Bird Friendly certified.Organic.
