Ceylon is the old name for Sri Lanka, and just as Ceylon Tea refers only to Sri Lankan tea, Ceylon Cinnamon refers only to Sri Lankan products. This product cannot originate from China, Indonesia, India, Germany, America, Ghana, or the like. The name and taste of our product are very different from conventional products.
Why Güzel Ada Gida Ceylon Cinnamon Powder?
Its difference from Cassia, sold openly in baskets at conventional spice shops or at incredibly low prices in markets, is the amount of a natural substance called Coumarin. Excess coumarin is scientifically considered dangerous, and studies have been conducted to determine the maximum human exposure dose, and the dangers of exceeding this limit have been identified. The average coumarin content in Chinese or Indonesian cinnamon, called "Cassia," is around 4 . However, this ratio is 3 in 10,000 in Ceylon Cinnamon.
How is Organic Ceylon Cinnamon Powder Produced?
These barks, collected from clean trees with an organic farming certificate and no contact with any synthetic pesticides, poisons, waste, synthetic fertilizers, or synthetic preservatives, from planting to harvest, are not cut into standard lengths like cinnamon sticks. Instead, they are cut to the dimensions determined by Güzel Ada Gida and packaged. Among the products, those whose length and thickness are deemed unsuitable for cinnamon sticks are ground. Irradiation (Gamma radiation), which is against the Organic Agriculture Law, is not used in product sterilization. Instead, the products are steam sterilized, then filled into sterilized jars in our own facilities, and finally delivered to our tables. For this reason, it is a less expensive product than cinnamon sticks.
