Tom Bagaza, who established coffee villages (Coffee Villages) in the Gatsibo region in 2008, saw this initiative as an opportunity to make sustainable investments in his region. Bagaza partnered with local farmers by purchasing coffee cherries and also established a washing station that provided jobs to process the cherries during harvest season. Since then, Tom has invested a significant portion of his income into expanding the washing station's capacity, and today, the station is capable of processing a significant amount of coffee. Additionally, with the support of coffee buyers, he established a system that provides clean water to the community.
