It is used as a remedy for thyroid diseases (thyrotoxicosis, thyroid hyperplasia, hyperthyroidism). This plant also has astringent, antibacterial, antiseptic, wound-healing, hemostatic, hypotensive properties, and regulates metabolism. White cinquefoil is also used to treat gastrointestinal diseases: diarrhea (astringent property), dysentery (antibacterial, antiseptic, astringent properties), gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer (antiseptic, wound-healing properties), gout and rheumatism, and to lower blood pressure.
