Geranium Hydrosol(Pelargonium graveolens)
Hydrosols obtained during steam distillation of plants are waters loaded with aromatic compounds of flowers or plants. They are also referred to as hydrolates.
During the distillation to obtain the essential oils of flowers or plants, not only the essential oils but also all their water-soluble properties are revealed when the plants come into contact with steam or water. Then, when this water or steam is cooled, the essential oils decompose and rise to the top, and the water remaining at the bottom is hydrosol. It contains all the healing properties of the plant or flower. Hydrosols are much gentler than essential oils. Unlike essential oils, hydrosols can be applied directly to the skin without requiring a carrier oil. They are generally safe for all ages, those with sensitive skin, and even pets. It revitalizes and soothes the skin with the natural plant essential oils and water-soluble actives it contains.
