To address the problem of iodine deficiency, the Medical Radiological Research Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (Obninsk) has developed "Iod-Active," a drug recommended as a supplemental source of iodine.

"Iod-Active" was created based on unique, long-term experience in the treatment and prevention of thyroid diseases, including those following the Chernobyl nuclear accident.

"Iod-Active" tablets are based on organic iodine, which is easily absorbed by humans, and which scientists have incorporated into a milk protein molecule.

The idea of combining iodine with milk to improve health was proposed by the Russian scientist and priest Father Pavel Florensky.

This is an analogue of the natural iodine compound that we begin to receive with the first drops of breast milk.

The uniqueness of "Iod-Active" tablets lies in their "smart iodine": in cases of iodine deficiency, it is actively absorbed, and in cases of excess, it is excreted from the body without entering the thyroid gland.

This occurs due to the fact that iodine is split off from milk protein under the action of liver enzymes, which are produced when there is a lack of iodine.

When there is enough iodine in the body, the enzymes are not produced and "Iod-Active" is excreted naturally, without being absorbed into the blood.

"Iod-Active" is recommended as an additional source of iodine:

to overcome iodine deficiency;

to reduce the risk of developing diseases associated with iodine deficiency.
