Who Is Izmi?

British mum of two Emily Williamson, an experienced Sling Librarian, Carrying Consultant and Trainer

Emily struggled when using baby carriers with her first child so began to research alternatives. She soon became fascinated in the mechanics of carriers. This passion became a full-time job when she qualified as a Carrying Consultant and set up a Sling Library.

Emily has been working directly with parents for a decade, offering advice and using hundreds of different wraps and carriers. She has taken onboard all of the questions and concerns from real parents and came up with her own solution. Izmi.

We have a unique, personal connection to the experience of carrying, making carriers, and to the experiences of the range of different people who use our products. Izmi is born of a genuine passion to find ways to make life as a parent feel simpler.

Why is Izmi Different?

Structured carriers tend to position your baby away from your body which will put strain on your back.

The Izmi carrier is a soft semi-structured carrier, this means that you still have the same mechanisms as a typical buckle carrier but have more of the comfort snug feel of a baby wrap.

Izmi Essential Baby Carrier

The award-winning Izmi Essential Carrier means that parents and babies can now enjoy the soft intimacy of a fabric sling with the ease and comfort of a buckle carrier, without the bulk. Designed for your newborn baby, the adjustable Izmi Essential Carrier can be used from birth (2.3kg- 9kg).

The Izmi Essential baby carrier also offers three different hands-free carrying positions, and the ability to breastfeed inside the carrier.

Made from 100% lightweight and quick drying polyester making the Izmi practical to keep clean, and ideal for use in the home and on days out.

The Izmi Essential carrier is cleverly designed to adjust, fit, and modify around your growing baby while keeping you comfortable. You can use from birth with optional head support built in using the hood which can be clipped up on one side to support your baby's head.

Three Carrying Positions

The Izmi Essential baby carrier offers four carrying positions including: front carry, outward facing carry, and hip carry from when your little one has full head control (approximately 6 months onwards). This makes the Izmi baby carrier perfect for walks out and about or around the house, for complete hands-free freedom.

Versatile Design

The soft cotton fabric and intuitive buckle system means you can enjoy the comfort of padded carrier with the soft snug feeling of a baby wrap. The straps spread across your shoulders to help distribute your baby's weight evenly and reduce pressure on your back. With so many adjustments, you can trust that your little one is in the best and most comfortable position as they grow.

Safety First

Recognised by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The adjustable seat width means you can adapt the carrier as your little one grows which ensures that your baby is always in a hip-healthy position, with their knees higher than their bum in an "M" frog-like position. Always make sure that airways are not obstructed and your baby's spine is supported in an upright position.
