DIAAS (Digestible Indispensable Amino Acid Score) is a scoring system recently adopted by the World Health Organization. It’s the gold standard for measuring protein quality.
DIAAS looks at the essential amino acid (EAA) content/composition in a protein source (per gram) and compares them to the body’s minimum requirements of each while also taking into consideration absorption rates (as not everything you eat is absorbed the same way). Yep, protein quality is all about the EAAs.
A DIAAS (score) of 100% would provide the EAAs in a ratio that would satisfy your body’s average requirement of these amino acids (should you consume 0.66 g/kg/day of this protein).
Anything lower than 100% would indicate that one or more of the EAAs in the protein source is deficient (to your body’s need – assuming you’re consuming 0.66 g/kg/day of this protein). Conversely, a higher DIAAS (score) indicates that the protein source is providing a greater amount of EAAs per gram and is a more efficient way to reach your EAA requirements.
We’ve provided the DIAAS for many protein sources above and as you can see, PROMINO rises above with a 321% DIAAS!
How? Well, PROMINO’s optimized ratio and amounts of EAAs along with its lightning-fast absorption rates allows our post-workout formula to score a higher DIAAS.
