Caniquantel Plus XL is a complex anthelmintic.

It has a broad spectrum of anthelmintic action against all stages of development of roundworms and tapeworms that parasitize dogs and cats, including Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Trihuris vulpis, Echinococcus granulosis, Echinococcus multicolans, Taenia spp., Dipylidium caninum, Diphyllobotrium latum, Multiceps multiceps, and Mesocestoides spp.

The mechanism of action of the active ingredients in this medicinal product is based on the inhibition of fumarate reductase and ATP synthesis, persistent depolarization of helminth muscle cells, and disruption of energy metabolism, which leads to disruption of muscle innervation, paralysis, and death of the parasite, facilitating its elimination from the gastrointestinal tract.

When administered orally, praziquantel and fenbendazole are absorbed in the intestine and distributed throughout the animal's organs and tissues.

Caniquantel Plus XL is prescribed to dogs and cats for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes for nematodosis

(toxocariasis, toxascariasis, uncinariasis, ancylostomiasis, trichuriasis) and cestodiasis (taeniasis, dipylidiosis,

echinococcosis, diphyllobothriasis, mesocestodiasis).

The drug should not be used by lactating and pregnant females in the first two thirds of pregnancy, as well as

puppies and kittens under 3 weeks of age.

Before using Caniquantel Plus XL, a preliminary fasting diet and the use of laxatives

are not required.

The drug is administered to animals orally individually at the rate of 1 tablet per 20 kg of animal weight

once a Morning feeding with a small amount of food.

If the animal refuses food with an anthelmintic, the drug is administered forcibly to the root of the tongue or in

the form of an aqueous suspension.

To prepare an aqueous suspension, a Caniquantel Plus XL tablet is crushed, suspended in 10 ml of water, shaken vigorously and immediately administered to the animal's oral cavity using a syringe with a catheter.

For prophylactic purposes, animals are dewormed quarterly at a therapeutic dose.

No side effects or complications have been identified with the use of Caniquantel Plus XL in accordance with the instructions.

При пероральном введении лекарственного препарата празиквантел и фенбендазол всасываются в кишечнике и распределяются в органах и тканях животного; выводятся из организма в основном с мочой.

Каниквантел Плюс XL назначают собакам и кошкам с лечебной и профилактической целью при нематодозах

(токсокароз, токсаскаридоз, унцинариоз, анкилостомоз, трихоцефалез) и цестодозах (тениоз, дипилидиоз,

эхинококкоз, дифиллоботриоз, мезоцестодоз).

Препарат не следует применять кормящим и беременным самкам первые две трети беременности, а также

щенкам и котятам моложе 3-недельного возраста.

Перед применением Каниквантела Плюс XL предварительной голодной диеты и применения слабительных

средств не требуется.

Препарат применяют животным перорально индивидуально из расчета 1 таблетка на 20 кг массы животного

однократно в утреннее кормление с небольшим количеством корма.

В случае отказа животного от корма с антигельминтиком, препарат вводят принудительно на корень языка или в

виде водной суспензии.

Для приготовления водной суспензии таблетку Каниквантела Плюс XL измельчают, суспендируют в 10 мл воды, интенсивно взбалтывают и тотчас вводят животному в ротовую полость при помощи шприца с катетером.

С профилактической целью животных дегельминтизируют ежеквартально в терапевтической дозе.

Побочных явлений и осложнений при применении Каниквантела Плюс XL в соответствии с инструкцией не установлено.
