Molasses essence is a natural food obtained from fruits. It can be candied due to the sugars of the fruit that makes it. It has no harmful effects and can be consumed. Molasses essence does not spoil easily its flavor and consistency increase with age. Glucose molecules from the fruit crystallize and become more concentrated over time. This does not mean it contains added sugar.
Molasses and essence contain tartaric acid. These acids precipitate over time. While this sedimentation is sometimes mistakenly interpreted as the product spoiling, tartaric acid is a natural substance beneficial to human health. Candied and sedimented molasses and essence products can be restored to their normal state by using the bain-marie method, that is, by keeping them in a container filled with hot water (70 degrees) and can be safely consumed without any loss of quality.
