Ginger root is cultivated in Asia. The ginger root matures to a thickness of approximately 3 cm. It is then harvested and peeled. After peeling, the ginger root is air-dried. This process allows the ginger root to reach Germany. There, it is collected and sifted into various grades. Ginger root primarily contains essential oils, with gingerol being the main component. Finely chopped ginger root is suitable as a cooking spice or for brewing ginger tea. To prepare ginger tea, pour 1 to 2 teaspoons of ginger root into 500 ml of lightly boiling water and let it steep for 10 minutes. Ginger tea tastes best with lemon or honey. The ginger root comes from controlled cultivation and is free of harmful substances.
