Cut Soapwort Root. Red soapwort root, botanically known as Saponariae rubrae radix, is a wild herb. It grows in Europe, North America, and northern Asia. In our region, it is native and thrives in riverbanks, trail crevices, and river pebbles. In October, the roots and droppings are harvested, dried, and cut. Red soapwort root is prepared as a tea. One cup a day is considered a recommended dose if used alone.
