Dehinel Plus for the treatment and prevention of helminthiasis in dogs

Anthelminthic drug for dogs Dehinel Plus (international nonproprietary name: 150 mg febantel, 144 mg pyrantel embonate and 50 mg praziquantel, and as auxiliary components - lactose monohydrate, corn starch, povidone K30, sodium lauryl sulfate, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon anhydride, magnesium stearate and a flavoring additive with meat flavor.

Dehinel Plus are round tablets, weighing 658 mg for oral administration, yellow in color with dark blotches with beveled edges and a cross-shaped notch on one side.

The drug is packaged in blisters of 2 tablets, which are placed in cardboard boxes.

Dehinel Plus, thanks to the active ingredients included in its composition substances, has antiparasitic activity against cestodes: Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Mesocestoides lineatus, Diphyllobothrium latum, Dipylidium caninum, Multiceps multiceps, Taenia spp.

and nematodes: Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria spp., Ancylostoma spp., Trichuris vulpis.

Febantel, moderately absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, causes inhibition of tubulin protein synthesis and the process of glucose intake in nematodes, while simultaneously inhibiting fumarate reductase, an enzyme responsible for energy metabolism in helminths.

Pyrantel embonate is very poorly absorbed when administered orally and therefore exerts its effect directly on the surface of the gastrointestinal mucosa of a sick dog.

It blocks the Praziquantel interferes with neuromuscular impulse transmission and causes paralysis of the helminth's muscles, allowing the parasites to be easily eliminated from the host's gastrointestinal tract.

Praziquantel is well absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and has a detrimental effect on cestodes (tapeworms) by increasing the permeability of parasite cell membranes to calcium ions and inhibiting fumarate reductase, which causes spastic contraction of the parasite's muscles, leading to paralysis.

Praziquantel is excreted unchanged in the bile.

Dehinel Plus, in terms of its effect on warm-blooded animals, is classified as a low-hazard substance and, in recommended doses, does not have a sensitizing or hepatotoxic effect.

Prescribed to dogs for prophylactic and therapeutic purposes for nematodosis (toxocariasis, toxascariasis, uncinariasis, ancylostomiasis, trichuriasis) and cestodiasis (teniasis, dipylidiasis, echinococcosis, diphyllobothriasis, mesocestodiasis).

Dehinel Plus is administered to dogs individually orally, once during the morning feeding at a rate of 1 tablet per 10 kg of animal weight.

Before using the drug, a fasting diet and the use of laxatives are not required.

In cases of intense helminth infestation, animals are recommended to re-administer the drug after 14 days at the same dose.

For therapeutic purposes, animals are given the drug according to indications, and for prophylactic purposes - quarterly (once every 3 months) at a therapeutic dose.

Symptoms of overdose in dogs have not been identified.

Features of the drug's action during its first use have not been established.

PREVENTIVE TREATMENT REGIMEN

Puppies: at the age of 4, 6 and 12 weeks.

Young Dogs: Every 2-3 months until they reach 1 year of age.

Adult dogs: 3-4 times a year.

Female dogs: During estrus, two weeks before and 2 weeks after parturition.

All dogs: Before vaccination.

SIDE EFFECTS

Side effects and complications with the use of Dehinel Plus in accordance with these instructions are generally not observed.

In sensitive animals, individual signs of intolerance to the components of the drug are rare.

If allergic reactions occur, the use of Dehinel Plus is discontinued and desensitizing therapy is carried out.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

The drug is not allowed to be used in puppies in the first three weeks of life and in pregnant bitches in the first two-thirds of the gestation period.

It is not allowed to prescribe Dehinel Plus simultaneously with piperazine derivatives, levamisole, organophosphorus compounds and other drugs with cholinergic action.

Антигельминтный препарат для собак Дехинел Плюс (международное непатентованное наименование: 150 мг фебантела, 144 мг пирантела эмбоната и 50 мг празиквантела, а в качестве вспомогательных компонентов — моногидрат лактозы, кукурузный крахмал, повидон К30, лаурилсульфат натрия, микрокристаллическую целлюлозу, коллоидный ангидрид кремния, стеарат магния и ароматическую добавку со вкусом мяса. Дехинел Плюс представляют собой круглые таблетки, массой 658 мг для применения внутрь, желтого цвета с темными вкраплениями со скошенными краями и крестовидной насечкой с одной стороны. Препарат расфасовывают в блистеры по 2 таблетки, которые вкладывают в картонные коробки.

Дехинел Плюс, благодаря входящим в его состав действующим веществам, обладает антипаразитарной активностью в отношении цестод: Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Mesocestoides lineatus, Diphyllobothrium latum, Dipylidium caninum, Multiceps multiceps, Taenia spp. и нематод: Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria spp., Ancylostoma spp., Trichuris vulpis. Фебантел, умеренно всасываясь из желудочно-кишечного тракта, вызывает у нематод угнетение синтеза белка тубулина и процесса поступления глюкозы, одновременно ингибирует фумаратредуктазу — фермент, ответственный за энергетический обмен гельминтов. Пирантел эмбонат очень плохо всасывается при пероральном введении и поэтому, оказывает свое действие непосредственно на поверхности слизистой оболочки желудочно-кишечного тракта больной собаки. Он блокирует у нематод нервно-мышечную передачу импульса и вызывает паралич мускулатуры гельминта, поэтому паразиты легко выводятся из желудочно-кишечного тракта хозяина. Празиквантел хорошо всасывается в желудочно-кишечном тракте и оказывает губительное действие на цестод (ленточных червей) за счет повышения проницаемости клеточных мембран паразитов для ионов кальция и угнетения фумаратредуктазы, что вызывает спастическое сокращение мускулатуры паразита, переходящее в паралич. Празиквантел выделяется с желчью в неизменном виде. Дехинел Плюс по степени воздействия на организм теплокровных животных относится к малоопасным веществам и в рекомендуемых дозах не оказывает сенсибилизирующего и гепатотоксического действия.

Назначают собакам с профилактической и лечебной целью при нематодозах (токсокароз, токсаскаридоз, унцинариоз, анкилостомоз, трихоцефалез) и цестодозах (тениидозы, дипилидиоз, эхинококкозы, дифиллоботриоз, мезоцестодоз).

Дехинел Плюс применяют собакам индивидуально внутрь, однократно в утреннее кормление из расчета 1 таблетка на 10 кг веса животного.

Перед применением препарата голодной диеты и использования слабительных средств не требуется. В случаях интенсивного заражения гельминтами животным рекомендуется повторное применение препарата через 14 дней в той же дозе. С лечебной целью животным задают препарат по показаниям, а с профилактической — ежеквартально (1 раз в 3 месяца) в терапевтической дозе.

Симптомы передозировки у собак не выявлены.

Особенностей действия препарата при его первом применении не установлено.

РЕЖИМ ПРОФИЛАКТИЧЕСКИХ ОБРАБОТОК

Щенки: в возрасте 4, 6 и 12 недель.

Молодые собаки: каждые 2–3 месяца до достижения возраста 1 год.

Взрослые собаки: 3–4 раза в год.

Суки: во время течки, за две недели до родов и через 2 недели после родов.

Все собаки: перед вакцинацией.

ПОБОЧНЫЕ ДЕЙСТВИЯ

Побочных явлений и осложнений при применении Дехинела Плюс в соответствии с настоящей инструкцией, как правило, не наблюдается.

У чувствительных животных в редких случаях возможны индивидуальные признаки непереносимости компонентов лекарственного средства. При появлении аллергических реакций применение Дехинела Плюс прекращают и проводят десенсибилизирующую терапию.

ПРОТИВОПОКАЗАНИЯ

Повышенная индивидуальная чувствительность к компонентам препарата. Не допускается применение лекарственного препарата щенкам в первые три недели жизни и щенным сукам в первые две трети периода беременности.

Не допускается назначать Дехинел Плюс одновременно с производными пиперазина, левамизолом, фосфорорганическими соединениями и другими лекарственными средствами, обладающими холинергическим действием.
