It is active against nematodes of the genera Ancylostoma, Uncinaria, Toxocara, Toxascaris, and Trichocephalus. Its mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of the enzyme fumarate reductase in the helminth mitochondria, resulting in disruption of glucose absorption and tubulin protein synthesis. This disruption leads to the destruction of the microtubule apparatus of the parasite's cells, causing its death. Febantel is absorbed in the intestine, metabolized in the liver, and excreted in the bile into the intestinal lumen, where it is partially reabsorbed. It is excreted from the body both unchanged and as several metabolites in feces and urine. Pyrantel embonate is a compound of the pyrimidine group, active against nematodes, including the genera Ascaris, Toxascaris, Ancylostoma, and Uncinaria. Its mechanism of action is based on the blockade of nerve impulse transmission in neuromuscular synapses by depolarizing muscle cell membranes, which causes paralysis of the muscular system of nematodes; when administered orally, it is very poorly absorbed and has a prolonged effect on helminths in the intestine; is excreted from the body mainly unchanged with feces (93%). Praziquantel is a compound of the pyrazinoisoquinoline group, active against mature and immature cestodes - Echinococcus spp., Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Multiceps multiceps, Mesocestoides spp. Its mechanism of action is based on inducing the disintegration of the tegument and inhibiting fumarate reductase, persistent depolarization of helminth muscle cells, disruption of energy metabolism, which causes paralysis and death of cestodes and promotes their elimination from the gastrointestinal tract. Praziquantel is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, reaching its maximum concentration in the blood plasma after 1-3 hours, and is distributed in the organs and tissues of the animal; Binds to serum proteins (70-80%), is partially metabolized in the liver, re-excreted into the intestines, and is excreted from the body mainly in the urine (up to 80%) within 24 hours. Dehinel Plus tablets with meat flavor, according to the degree of impact on the body, are classified as low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76); in recommended doses, they do not have a sensitizing or hepatotoxic effect.
