Sugar cane is a wild reed thought to have originated in Bengal. Today La Perruche cane sugar is cultivated in Reunion Island, a tropical paradise of flavors and fragrances. The La Perruche brand was created in the latter part of the 19th century and won several medals at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1889, the year famous for the construction of the Eiffel Tower!
