El Salvadoran coffee generally has low acidity and a medium body. Its flavor profile is dominated by fruity and sweet notes. Common flavors include red apple, orange, caramel, and chocolate. El Salvadoran coffee has a medium body, making it easy and enjoyable to drink. Coffees grown in different regions of El Salvador have slightly different tasting notes.

Finca La Joya's story begins over a century ago, with the planting of the first coffee trees in these fertile lands. Passed down through generations, the farm has become a living testament to the deep-rooted bond between the Salvadoran people and their beloved coffee. At Finca La Local, sustainability isn't just a buzzword it's a way of life. They meticulously implement environmentally friendly practices, from organic farming methods that nourish the soil to water conservation initiatives that respect the delicate balance of the ecosystem.
Most coffee produced in El Salvador is "washed" or "wet" processed. The coffee cherries are flogged and sorted to ensure consistent ripeness and remove defective cherries. The seeds (coffee beans) are then removed from their husks using pulping machines and typically moved to fermentation tanks to remove the mucilage (remaining fruit residue). The coffee is then dried to reach optimal moisture levels.
Washed coffee has become quite popular. The cup profile of washed coffees tends to reflect the coffee's climate. The processing method allows the true character of the growing conditions, the region, and the coffee to shine through.
How to Brew
When brewing this specialty coffee, you can choose pour-over brewing methods such as Filter Coffee Machines, Chemex, or V60. A medium-ground coffee allows you to obtain a delicious cup of coffee with these brewing methods. Its roasting profile is also suitable for filter coffee brewing. It can also be brewed using different brewing methods depending on coffee enthusiasts' preferences. However, it must be ground according to your machine and equipment.
