HISTORY OF CAJUN MIX: Cajun seasoning is a blend of spices and herbs originating in Louisiana. Because of its origins, it flavors all Louisiana dishes such as gumbo, jambalaya (a traditional rice dish), Red Beans and Rice (a dish made, as its name suggests, of rice and red beans, traditionally eaten on Mondays), and other typical rice dishes, stews, etc. The term "Cajun" comes from an English corruption of "Cadien," which refers to the descendants of the Acadians. In the 18th century, these French settlers from Nova Scotia were forcibly deported from Acadia in Canada to Acadia in Louisiana in the United States because they refused to swear allegiance to the British Crown. These French people, arriving in an unknown land, appropriated the ingredients and foods found there and created this blend that complements all dishes. DESCRIPTION OF THE CAJUN BLEND: The Cajun blend is a mixture comprising various spices, herbs, and seasonings. This mixture, traditionally intended for cooking shellfish, can be used in all dishes or as a base for a marinade.HISTOIRE DU MÉLANGE CAJUN :Le mélange Cajun est un mélange d'épices et d'aromates originaire de la Louisiane.
