ETHIOPIA – HAMBELA BONTIANA – NATURAL
This coffee is grown in the Gedeo region of Ethiopia. It originates from Hambela. Gedeo has over 25,000 coffee farmers owning land parcels of 0.5–2 hectares. The region experiences both equatorial and monsoon trade winds and variable rainfall. A short rainy season, from March to May, is followed by a short dry period before the main rainy season, from July to December. Average monthly maximum and minimum temperatures are 25 and 18 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Hambela woreda is known for its completely organic and pesticide-free coffee trees. These trees are left to grow wild and freely with minimal pruning.
Boledu coffee companywas founded in 2018 by Abyote Ageza and Mebraftu Aynalem, who have over 12 years of experience in coffee. The name Boledu means "source" in the local language.
The company, which has its own washing stations in Dimtu Hambela, Yirgacheffe, Aricha, and Gedeb in the Guji region, produces and exports both natural and washed coffees from local farmers. They also purchase coffee directly from washing stations in Uraga and Sidamo.
