Safflower Seed Oil
Native to Asia and the Mediterranean basin, grown in arid and semi-arid regions and known as AspirCarthamus tinctorius L., is an annual oilseed plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. Safflower seeds contain 8-48 oil, -22 protein and -22 fiber [1].
Safflower oil, which is obtained by cold pressing from the seeds of this drought and salt-resistant plant, contains very high amounts ( ) of the two main unsaturated fatty acids, oleic and linoleic acids, while the rest contains saturated fatty acids such as palmitic and stearic. In addition, Safflower oil is a carrier of fat-soluble vitamins such as retinol, calciferol, tocopherol and phylloquinone [2,3].
When the effects of Safflower oil on human health were investigated, it was seen that it supported the treatment of hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, and coronary diseases. It is also well known that Safflower oil helps lower cholesterol levels in the blood, protects body tissues, and protects internal organs [1,4].
Application Methods:
You can use safflower oil alone or by diluting it with another fixed oil suitable for your skin type.
It is suitable for use on all skin types. It is especially ideal for use on dry, sensitive, irritated or mature skin.
In addition to its fluid structure in cosmetic and massage applications, it is used for its softening, moisturizing, nourishing and soothing properties due to its richness in vitamins E and K and Omega-6.
It is ideal for the care of weak, brittle and brittle hair.
Recommendations for Use:
You can use the mixture you prepared with 20 ml Sesame Oil and 10 ml Safflower Oil as a massage oil base. You can strengthen the effect of this mixture by adding essential oils in appropriate proportions.
