Product Name: Thyme Honey 1000 gr
Nurbal Thyme Honey is a special honey produced in natural hives, collected without any intervention in the hives like all other honey production. For centuries, bees have been transforming the healthy benefits of thyme into honey and offering it to humanity as thyme honey.
Thyme is a member of the nectar-producing mint family, Lamiaceae, which is the source of other delicious honeys such as peppermint, sage, thyme, and lavender.
It is best grown in a warm, sunny location with well-drained soil. It is usually planted in spring and then grows as a perennial. It can be propagated by seed, cuttings, or by dividing rooted sections of the plant. It tolerates drought well. The plants can withstand deep freezes and are found growing wild on mountain plateaus.
Thyme belongs to the genus Thymus, which contains about 350 species of aromatic perennial herbaceous plants and subshrubs.
Historically known as Hymettus Honey from Attica near Mount Hymettus, Greece, and Hyblaean Honey from the Iblei (Hyblaean) Mountains of Sicily, honey is still produced in both countries today. Sardinia and Corsica produce a unique version of honey from Caraway thyme. Found in many countries around the Mediterranean (Turkey, Southern Europe, Malta, Croatia, North Africa), thyme has spread to similar climates worldwide, including the Berkshire and Catskill Mountains (T. serpyllum) of the northeastern United States and New Zealand.
Famous for its aroma and flavor, this delicacy was produced between June 2020 and the first half of July 2020. Thyme honey's color ranges from amber to light amber when liquid and from beige to brown when crystallized. It is a very strong, intensely aromatic honey with resinous, herbal, and salty flavors, reminiscent of fresh and tropical fruits, dates, and white pepper. The flavor is persistent and lingers in the mouth. It quickly crystallizes into medium to fine grains.
Its intense and complex aroma has been described as floral, spicy, dried flowers, magnolia blossoms, cedar, herbs, flowers, rubbed, cloves, burnt plastic, pencil drawing, mulled wine, and Marsala. The flavor has been described as salty, thymol, pharmacy, plastic, pencil, dates, and black pepper.
