Odysea Kalamata PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Produced from Koroneiki olives grown & pressed in the Kalamata region, an area acclaimed for the production of superior quality olive oil and awarded PDO status.

A robust oil with medium fruitiness and a light to medium pungency. Full-bodied herbaceous flavour that slowly builds in the mouth leaving a pleasant peppery aftertaste. Fresh grassy aroma with notes of citrus and tomatoes on the vine.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Good green and spicy aroma with leaves, stalks and nuts and some light citrus tones.

Taste: Quite gentle to start with in the mouth with nuts and meadowsweet herbs followed by a growing pepperiness with just a touch of almond skin bitterness. This all fades to leave a pleasant after taste of light flowers and nuts.

OVERALL ASSESSMENT:

This is an easy, undemanding oil which will appeal to those who do not want anything too aggressive. It is a pleasant all-rounder that could be used in most culinary applications.

This has a gentle style with a reasonable balance of fruitiness, bitterness and pepper.
