Orandas are not very good swimmers, so they are not recommended to be kept with fast-moving fish. They are a hardy and hardy fish, so they can be kept in ponds where temperatures do not fall below 17 C. However, they are not as heat-tolerant as other Japanese species. There is no color restriction for Orandas (except Redcap, Brown, and Blue). They can be any color, including yellow, red, black, orange, white, and cream, or a mixture of these.

Orandalar Çok iyi yüzücü degillerdir bu yüzden hizli yüzden baliklarla ayni yerde beslenilmesi tavsiye edilmez. Sert ve dayanikli bir baliktir bu yüzden 17C nin altina düsmeyen havuzlarda da beslenmesinde sakinca yoktur. Fakat isi konusunda diger japon türleri kadar dayanikli degildir. Oranda türlerinde bir renk kisitlamasi(Redcap,Brown,Blue hariç) yoktur. Sari,Kirmizi,Siyah,turuncu,Beyaz,Krem gibi her renk olabilecegi gibi bunlarin karisimi da olabilir.

Balik ilk dogdugunda belirgin olan kafa yapisi olmaz. dogum sonrasi 2 – ay ay içerisinden kafa gelisimi baslar. Kafa gelisimi 1 ila 2 yil boyunca devam eder. Balik eriskinlige ulastiginda kafa büyümesi duracaktir. Kafa gelisimi Su kalitesi(sürekli taze su),yedigi yemdeki protein miktari ile dogru orantili artmaktadir. Boy olarak 20, 30 CM boya kadar uzayabilirler. Bazen kafa gelisimi anormal sekilde gözleri ve burnu kapatabilirler. Bu durumda cerrahi müdahale gereklidir. 17-28C arasinda ideal sicaklik olarak kabul edilebilir. Swim Bladder hastaligi en sik bu türde görülmektedir. Bu yüzden pek çok kisi batan yemler ve ya jel yemler kullanmaktadir.
