We are located in Canada, Eastern Ontario, and our evergreen trees sit in a natural forest. Our trees are never treated with herbicides, pesticides, or any chemical fertilizers, and our neighbours and surrounding locals are home landowners with no commercial farming businesses around. We have a few local organic beekeepers as well. We harvest with sustainable methods, only collecting what we need and never over-harvesting from one tree. Our pine needles are picked GREEN providing the chlorophyll and the many benefits needed in a nutritious tea. After all, you are buying pine needle tea for its nutrients it's like going down the produce aisle and buying greens that should be green. We do not include yellow or brown needles in our tea. Eastern white pine tea produces a warm peachy colour with lively and delicate flavours of citrus that refresh the palate. How to make Pine Needle Tea - Prepare tea using water that has reached a rolling or full boil. Add one tea bag to a cup of hot water - Steeping for 15 to 20 mins will allow more flavour in the pine needles to be extracted. Covering your teapot or cup during a steep ensures a warmer steeping temperature which will help the needles infuse. Storage: Tea bags should be refrigerated or kept in the freezer upon receipt. Keeping tea bags in the freezer or fridge will keep them freshest and green and prevent spoiling, and it's the green you want to maintain to preserve its nutrients. 8 grams of fresh-cut needles are put into each bag. Tea bags contain only Eastern white pine with the scientific name Pinus strobus. White pine is native to eastern North America and is Ontario's provincial tree.
