Will the cuff fit my arm?

Selecting the correct cuff is extremely important. Cuff size is dependent upon the circumference of the arm (measured in the center of the bicep). The permissible range is printed on the cuff and our cuffs are a universal size, fitting 8.7 inches - 15.7 inches (22-40 cm) arms. Measure your arm to make sure the cuff will fit you.

How to understand that the device detected an arrhythmia?

If you see three heart symbols on the screen, it indicates that the device has found an arrhythmia, which is a disruption in your heartbeat. This might mean that you need to relax, calm down, and not speak during the measurement. If the symbol appears several times in a single week, we recommend going to a doctor.

Why is there a Micro USB plug on the device?

The Paramed Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor comes with batteries included so that you can use it as soon as it’s delivered to you. You may also operate this monitor using an AC adapter. Use only the approved AC adapter to avoid damaging the unit. Do not use batteries and the AC adapter at the same time. AC adapter is not included.

What is a self-checking cuff?

The device will indicate if the cuff is correctly positioned on your arm. The ‘cuff correct’ symbol will be displayed if the cuff position is correct. This symbol looks like a check mark. If the upper arm is not covered or properly pressed by the cuff, the ‘cuff wrong’ symbol will be displayed. This symbol looks like a X mark. Please check the cuff again if the ‘cuff wrong’ symbol is displayed.

Wait 30 minutes before measuring after drinking coffee, taking a bath, or any physical activity. Before turning on the device, sit straight up in a chair, put your feet flat on the ground, and relax.

Place the cuff on your left arm above your elbow so that the edge is about 1 inch (2-3 cm) above your elbow joint and the tubes are in the middle of your arm facing your body and hanging down.

Put your left palm up and place your elbow on a table or flat surface. Sit straight and relax, don't move or talk, and breathe regularly.

Turn on the blood pressure monitor. The results will appear on the screen. You'll see your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and heart beats per minute.
