Results of 13 clinical trials with 1752 randomized patients showed that 1-4 g day oral EPO had no difference in reducing breast pain compared to topical NSAIDS, danazol, or vitamin E.

In a triple-blind randomized clinical trial, the effect of evening primrose oil on postmenopausal psychological symptoms was investigated. The study group was given 2 g day EPO capsules, Menopause data were analyzed using an independent t-test and the Friedman test with SPSS software. P values 0.05 were considered statistically significant.

Prevents kidney stones

Eight black and 8 white healthy male subjects were given 1,000 mg of evening primrose oil per day for 20 days while on a free diet.

The data suggest that evening primrose oil supplementation should be investigated as a possible conservative treatment for calcium oxalate urolithiasis.
