Black elderberry (Sambucus nigra L.), also known as wild elderberry, is a shrub that can reach 10 m in height. It belongs to the Adoxaceae family and is widespread throughout Europe. In Poland, it is a very common plant that grows along roadsides and at the edges of forests. The flowers are harvested on sunny days at the beginning of the flowering season, usually at the end of May or in June. They are then dried in the shade in a well-ventilated place at temperatures not exceeding 50 C. It is one of the most valued herbs growing in Europe and is currently used in many health and cosmetic products. INGREDIENTS Dried elderflower DIRECTIONS Use one teaspoon of dried elderflower infusion per cup of water, steeped for a few minutes.
