What problem are we solving?
In April 2020, the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA) created the Pop-Up Makeke when the pandemic forced the cancellation of community events and temporary shutdowns of many local retail stores. We knew that many of Hawai?i's vendors depended on events and craft fairs as their main source of income, so CNHA set forward to build a virtual hub for Hawaiian small businesses, artisans, and vendors to reach and sell to an international audience.
