Batana oil is derived from the fruit of the American palm tree (Elaeis oleifera), which is native to the tropical regions of Central and South America. It's sometimes confused with traditional palm oil, which is derived from the African oil palm (Elaeis guineensis). Batana oil has been traditionally used by the Miskito people in Honduras for hair and skin care, and it's often referred to as Ojon oil in the cosmetic industry. Princess Mudd's Pure Batana OIl is imported from Honduras and is the same type of oil used in many of our hair and skin products for it's many hair and skincare benefits. Due to its beneficial properties, Batana or Ojon oil has gained popularity in the cosmetic industry and can be found in various high-end hair care products.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE PURCHASING!

  1. If you are not familiar with Batana Oil, you may not be familiar with how the oil looks and smells in it's pure raw state:
    1. To extract batana oil, the American Palm fruits are first boiled, then pounded to remove the orange outer shell. The nuts are then washed, sun-dried and then cracked to release the kernel. Finally, the kernels are cooked over an open fire to extract the oils. When the hot oil cools it forms a smoothBROWN SOLID PASTEat room temperature. Again, batana oil, in its raw form ISNOT A LIQUID OIL. Batana oil is only liquid when it'sFRACTIONATED.
    2. Batana oil has a strongburnt coffee like scent. For this reason, in it's raw state, it is often used as a rinse-off beauty product (ie. Pre-Shampoo, Rinse Off Deep Conditioner, Face Mask, etc.)
  2. If receiving your batana oil through mail during the summer months, place your batana oil in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before opening. Batana OIl is a solid at room temperature, but easily melts at temperatures slightly above room temperature. This DOES NOT effect the quality of the batana oil in any way.

Rejuvenate and Repair Hair with Batana Oil

Batana oil has been the cornerstone of indigenous hair care rituals for centuries. Rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and natural proteins, this oil penetrates deep into the hair shaft to repair damage, strengthen strands, and boost elasticity. Its unique molecular structure allows for optimal absorption, providing superior hydration and softness that lasts till the next wash day. Regular deep conditioning treatments with Batana oil can transform dry, brittle hair into locks that are luminous, resilient, and silky to the touch. Use by itself (or with other ingredients) as: a deep conditioner, pre-shampoo treatment, hot oil treatment, or deep conditioning hair mask.

Use in DIY Face Masks or by Itself for Radiant Skin

Batana oil deeply nourishes, hydrates, and rejuvenates the skin, promoting a vibrant, youthful glow. Its unique composition aids in reducing breakouts, combating signs of aging, and enhancing skin's natural elasticity (by not only helping to stop the slowdown of collagen production, but also helping to promote the production of new collagen). Moreover, the oil's deep moisturizing properties work harmoniously with the skin's lipid barrier, ensuring softness. Use by itself (or with other ingredients) as: a rejuvenating skin mask, night cream, or moisturizer.

Deep Conditioning Treatment or Pre-Poo

As a deep conditioning treatment:Apply batana oil to damp hair, focusing on the ends and areas that need extra nourishment (like the scalp). Cover hair with a deep conditioning bag. Sit under a hooded dryer for 30-45 minutes. Rinse with cool water. Do this for deep hydration, frizz control, strength, and overall healthier hair.

As a pre-shampoo treatment: 8-10 hours before washing your hair, massage this oil into your scalp and hair. Cover your hair with a plastic conditioning bag until it's time to

shampoo. Do this before washing your hair to protect your hair from potential damage caused by harsh surfactants, prevent excessive drying from the shampoo, prevent tangling and breakage during cleansing and enhances hair softness.

Rich heavy texture: a little goes a long way—start with a small amount. Fine or oily hair may feel heavy if overused. Scalp moisture comfort — use for regular scalp massages to moisturize scalp and promote hair growth. Smoother-looking strands — helps improve the look of split ends (because the only way to fix 'em is to cut 'em) and helps protect against further splitting. Helps reduce breakage by coating hair and improving conditioned feel—supports length retention with consistent use. Softness you can feel — superior conditioning makes it ideal for dry brittle hair. Use alone or before your deep conditioner for a softer, more conditioned feel. 100 Batana Oil — Pure artisan batana oil has a coffee like smell and brown pasty texture. This is the pure oil straight from Honduras. No fillers!.
