Medication and Constipation
Constipation caused by medications is called secondary constipation. Antidepressants, antispasmodics, antiacids, iron supplements, among others, cause fewer bowel movements than normal, difficult or painful bowel movements. Help your digestive system with healthy habits:
· Consume fiber, approx. 20-30 g daily.
· Drink plenty of fluids.
· Do exercises.
· Create the habit of going to the bathroom at the same time, for example after breakfast.
