Each fun, fish-shaped burstlet consists of a dose of fish oil encapsulated by a chewy outer capsule. The outer capsule is chewable and safe to be eaten. A burstlet measures approximately 1 inch in size.

While the whole burstlet can be eaten in its entirety, you can also pierce the capsule and administer the fish oil directly into the child's mouth or onto food, then discard the outer capsule. Since the active ingredients are in the liquid inside, you will still be delivering the full dose of fish oil if you discard the outer capsule.
