HOJICHA MATCHA – ROASTED GREEN TEA POWDER

Hojicha is a type of Japanese green tea that is roasted at high temperatures. This tea's light flavor, with notes of hazelnut and caramel, and intense, bright aroma are combined with a low caffeine content, allowing you to enjoy Hojicha at any time of day. This tea makes a wonderful hot or iced Hojicha latte. It's a surprisingly relaxing and delicious beverage that will remind you of a coffee latte, but is virtually caffeine-free.

Ideal Preparation Conditions

To a chawan (traditional matcha bowl), add 1 teaspoon (1.5g)Add hojicha powder, then 70ml80 CAdd filtered water.

Stir the hojicha powder thoroughly with a bamboo whisk or milk frother until dissolved.

Hot Hojicha Latte

Using a traditional bamboo whisk or milk frother, whisk together 1.5g (1 teaspoon) of Hojicha powder and 60ml of 80 C filtered water. Add 1 teaspoon of sweetener, if desired, and stir. Steam and froth 180ml of milk. Pour the hot milk into your bowl or mug and enjoy your Hojicha Latte.

Iced Hojicha Latte

Add half a cup of ice to a tall glass. Pour 180ml of milk over the ice. In a chawan, whisk together 1.5g (one teaspoon) of hojicha powder and 60ml of cold filtered water until completely dissolved. Slowly pour your whipped hojicha directly over the ice cubes for a layered effect.
