Hawthorn flowers have anti-atherosclerotic, antispasmodic, and hypotensive effects. They selectively dilate coronary and cerebral vessels and regulate metabolism.

They are used for heart disorders, hypertension, angina, tachycardia, and atherosclerosis.

Preparation: Add 1 tablespoon of flowers to a glass of boiling water, bring to a boil, and let steep, covered, for 2 hours. Take 1/2 cup 3 times daily 30 minutes before meals. Contraindications: individual intolerance.
